Latest News NAIDOC Week O'Connor Primary School will be celebrating NAIDOC Week in Week 10 this term. More Senior Assembly Our Senior Assembly will be held at 2.00pm on Thursday 11th June. More P&C General Meeting There will be a P&C General Meeting held on Monday 15th June. All parents are invited, and encouraged, to come along. The meeting will be held in the Staff Room at 6:00pm. We are asking that students and staff bring along a gold coin donation to wear crazy hair and the money raised will be donated to help children in remote communities. Early Childhood National Quality Standard School staff use the National Quality Standard to optimise development and learning in Kindergarten to Year 2. A continuous reflection and improvement cycle is embedded to reflect on practices, identify strengths, identify areas for improvement and monitor progress. Students choose a club at the start of each term where they will develop teamwork, communication skills and self esteem. It also provides students the opportunity to work with peers and teachers outside their normal classroom. To assist in the cost of providing such a program, parents are asked to pay a contribution of $15 for the year. At O'Connor Primary, lessons have been created by teachers across the school that address the Cultural Standards Framework. Cultural Studies Cultural Standards Framework At O’Connor Primary School our staff have reviewed and reflected on the Cultural Standards Framework released by the Department of Education. Lessons have been created by teachers across the school and it is expected that one lesson per week addresses these cultural standards. We are very fortunate to have two Aboriginal and Islander Education Officers on our staff who are available to share their knowledge and skills to assist staff, students and families. The O'Connor Primary School Reconciliation Action Plan RAP With the ongoing help of staff, parents, community members and students, O'Connor Primary School has created a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
