As an Independent Public School, O’Connor Primary School is required to have a School Board of school parents, staff and community representatives. The School Board held its first meeting at the end of Term One, 2011. School Board As an Independent Public School, O’Connor Primary School is required to have a School Board of school parents, staff and community representatives. The School Board held its first meeting at the end of Term One, 2011. The Principal remains responsible for the educational leadership, operation and management of the school. To maximise the input of the School Board in developing school policies, the Principal will seek advice and receive recommendations from the School Board. To enable the School Board to function effectively, the Principal will report regularly to the School Board on the school’s progress. OPS’s performance as an Independent School was reviewed by an independent panel in 2020 (which occurs triannually). The review is available to the public. A school business plan is ratified by the board every three years. The current plan and review can be accessed below. The Education Act and regulations pertaining to the act which applies to the current School Council will govern the running of the School Board. Alternatively, it can be hand delivered to the front office between 8.30am and 3.30pm. Once the application form has been received you will be contacted and if required, sent an enrolment pack through the mail. Please ensure that you have a copy of your child/children’s birth certificate and immunisation record available to be sighted by staff. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us! Proof of Address Suitable proof of address is required for enrolment as we, in line with the Department of Education guidelines, are only able to accept students from within our zoned catchment area.
